Why we email you first. Anybody can type an address into a form. Confirming you can read it is what stops somebody asking for your information by pretending to be you — and we may ask for more before handing over anything sensitive.

What we cannot remove. Bookings, payments and insurance records are kept for seven years under tax and package travel rules. Where that applies we will name the records rather than refusing without explanation.
